It would be nice for the functions buttons to work as advertised on the Mac, as in Forward and Back buttons for the web browser, however only the Left function button is functional, but instead of going forward or back it zooms out to display all open windows on the desktop in a single monitor view. The Right function button is non-functional on a Mac OSX.
